Private, One-on-One Sessions
We start by understanding your body’s response to stress. Where is trauma stored? We use physical indicators to learn about your nervous system, such as the fight-or-flight response. We learn that even after any immediate danger is gone, your body may still “remember” the stress state and this can cause you to end up feeling stuck or going through the same motions over and over again, especially if you’ve experienced prolonged periods of trauma.
I teach you actionable tools to increase your resiliency to stress, and learn how to embody a state of greater peace and calm. We go at your pace to gently question and redirect your stress responses to be appropriate to any situation. We focus on exploring and giving language to your sensations and feelings, so that you can safely and gradually increase your sense of well-being.
Sessions may be conducted online or in-person in Long Beach, Calif.

Private, Small Group Sessions for Parents and Adult Children
Are you the adult child of an immigrant parent? Do you feel that your parent doesn’t understand you, and vice versa? Maybe you yearn for deeper closeness but feel stuck in your current relationship, unsure how to bridge the divide. If your parent grew up in another country and you grew up in the United States, there’s a good chance there may be a disconnect in communication. You may wish to understand each, yet lack the awareness, resources, or skills to address these difference in a healthy and productive way.
This special family therapy is specifically designed to help heal the differences between immigrant parents and adult children. Through compassionate, trauma-informed somatic therapy, we practice resilience tools to create greater understanding and a deeper connection between you and your parent. I am multilingual in Spanish, English, and Italian. I was born in the U.S. yet have strong roots in Colombia. As a bicultural practitioner, I offer an empathetic and professional therapeutic approach.
This practice is informed by a deep understanding of social justice issues.

Private, One-on-One Sessions
This specific type of somatic therapy uses mindfulness, movement, and dance to facilitate greater self-awareness and self-regulation within the body. As a certified NIA (Non-Impact Aerobics) instructor, I offer a personalized therapeutic program designed to bring the mind and body into harmony with each other. In a typical session, I will gently guide you through physical movements based on your needs, desires, and limitations. What makes you feel the most “you”? That’s where you’re going to find the most healing. We let the healing happen through you, using body awareness, music, big movements to create more opportunities for flow and fluidity.
Unlike a non-therapeutic dance or exercise class, I work closely with you to design an outcome suited for your particular needs. I listen to your feedback to choreograph movements for your personal healing and opening, making sure to create a safe space first. We practice connecting your breath to your body and listening to your body’s signals. We allow space to address any vulnerability or stored trauma that may arise. Through gentle movement and flow, we work toward creating a greater sense of joy and openness in the body. This is not an “exercise class,” and is available for all body types.

Conferences, Panels or Presentations
I am available to give lectures or presentations on the topics of: trauma and resilience, the nervous system, stress management, body-based work (somatic therapy) and holistic therapy practices. I often find that therapists and organizations are not taught much about the importance of the physical, body-based element of therapy, and it is my joy to help spread awareness about somatic work.
